I’ve always sought the quiet pull of creativity. Photography became the perfect way to mix my love of nature, the outdoors, and the thrill of the unknown. It fits my need to explore foreign parts of the world and capture its memories.
I left a career in pharmaceuticals that included marketing and science five years ago—and dove into photography full time. I invested in the best gear, attended photography workshops, studied and traveled with the highest regarded landscape photographers in the world, and slowly began to develop my own style. I shoot with a Sony α7R V, a multitude of different lenses and filters.
My photographs take me, and hopefully you, to places unseen. It is here, away from others that I can capture the first morning’s light on a towering mountain top, or the Iridescence of colors as the sun sets on seascapes. When not traveling and the season in the NW claims nothing but rain, I buy flowers and photograph against dark backgrounds, their colors bright against the season’s gray.
Some argue over digital processing, but I use it like a painter would use his brush. I shoot in RAW, bringing out the full range of colors a camera can obtain. (90% of landscape photographers shoot in RAW). I don’t add anything that wasn’t there, rather I create the image as the human eye would see it in its full colors.
I live in the Pacific Northwest. If you would like to view my work, please visit https://lindalander.smugmug.com/.
