Mercer Island Community & Event Center gallery Now Through December 13

The Annual MIVAL Holiday Show is now on display at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center. This year we are thrilled to celebrate three new members who have received awards for their work. This annual show is a MIVAL tradition that encourages all members to enter. Thanks so much to June Lindsey for assembling a fabulous team (also including new members!) and spearheading the Show.

Watercolor work by Genny Reese, a beloved MIVAL member who recently passed away are also featured. View the variety of new art on display, including wreaths, paintings, pottery and beautiful gift items. Works are available for sale. Please be sure to drop by if you haven’t already and send your friends by to see this impressive collection of work by over 40 artists. The show will hang until December 13th. It is a very special show.

A Lament

Two MIVAL artists, Zeynep Banu Alev and Claudia Zimmerman examine the interaction of humans with nature. Zeynep explores this concept as she plays with sticks, leaves and seeds gathered over the years to create this body of work. Claudia uses allegory in her oil paintings to reveal hidden messages about human nature. For Zeynep and Claudia, it is a matter of trying to hear, trying to listen and taking note when nature reveals her stories.
